The GAD Story

GAD which stands for Great AMC Day is an AMC drag racing/show car event held just north of Hebron Ohio at National Trail Raceway, a drag racing venue. It is run and hosted by an AMC gentleman named Mike Luke. This year it is being held May 28-29, 2020. The main event is on Friday 29th at the racetrack. There is drag racing, a car show, food and T-shirts at a booth that Mike sets up. It is an all day event. Gate opens at 8:30am and eliminations start at 10am, so if you are travelling any distance you need to come on Thursday 28th. The main hotel is The Red Roof Inn in Hebron Ohio 740-467-7663 Mike has a party at his place Thursday evening for those early birds and another bigger party on Friday night, again at his place. There is no charge for the parties just BYOB. In the past there have been 25-40 cars racing and most of those people go to the parties along with many spectators. I have been going for the last three years and have thoroughly had a great time and met a lot of very interesting AMC people. Check out the videos and pictures. If you have never been it is a worthwhile trip/holiday, and I will be there again this year. Jeff Kennedy from Kennedy American usually attends and if you order anything from him, he will bring it to the event for pickup. A bonus.
